This internship is designed for a student interested in marketing, sales, international business, logistics, or business development. The intern will work closely with WTDC’s Sales and Marketing team and contribute to campaigns promoting services such as transportation, warehousing, and Foreign-Trade Zone consulting.

Responsibilities

  1. Business Development and Prospecting

    • Research and identify prospective customers within selected industries and market verticals.
    • Pursue key contacts at companies that may benefit from WTDC’s logistics, warehousing, transportation, office-space, and Foreign-Trade Zone services.
    • Build and organize prospect lists in Excel and other approved systems.
    • Conduct preliminary due diligence before leads are contacted or services are presented.
    • Assist with follow-up emails, telephone outreach, and campaign reengagement.
    • Support the development of ideal customer profiles for each target vertical.
  2. CRM and Sales Support

    • Enter, update, organize, and maintain prospect and customer information in Salesforce.
    • Track lead sources, contact activity, campaign responses, and follow-up actions.
    • Help ensure that marketing leads are properly transferred to and followed up by the Sales team.
    • Prepare basic pipeline, prospecting, and campaign-performance reports.
  3. Marketing Campaigns

    • Assist with the planning, development, rollout, and evaluation of targeted marketing campaigns.
    • Support campaigns promoting FTZ warehousing, FTZ consulting, transportation, office space, and other WTDC services.
    • Help prepare campaign materials, contact lists, messaging, presentations, and follow-up plans.
    • Participate in campaign reengagement efforts for prospects who did not respond during initial outreach.
  4. Social Media and Content Creation

    • Create and schedule content consistent with WTDC’s brand, services, company milestones, and industry themes.
    • Support WTDC’s presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
    • Assist with written copy, graphics, presentations, short-form content, and campaign assets.
    • Track follower growth, engagement rates, and other relevant performance indicators.
    • Maintain a consistent and professional brand voice across platforms.
  5. Email Marketing and Newsletters

    • Assist with preparing and distributing newsletters approximately every two weeks.
    • Build and maintain email-marketing databases using new and existing lead sources.
    • Prepare and deploy targeted email campaigns.
    • Review campaign results, including opens, clicks, replies, and other engagement measures.
    • Help improve contact segmentation and email-list quality.
  6. Market and Competitor Research

    • Conduct SWOT analyses of competitors in warehousing, transportation, logistics, and consulting.
    • Research competitor offerings and market pricing.
    • Identify emerging industry and marketing trends.
    • Recommend potential customer segments and new target verticals.
    • Summarize findings in presentations, reports, and internal briefing documents.

The prospecting plan calls for using research and outreach tools to build lists, perform lead due diligence, conduct email and telephone follow-up, and pursue contacts across multiple business verticals.
