COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SUMMER INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Community Engagement & Events Intern– OVW Men to Men
Schedule: Minimum 10–15 hours per week
Supervision: Reports to Nicola Brusatin, Program Manager
Position Overview
This internship supports CMF’s community engagement strategy with a strong focus on event coordination, partnership development, and program logistics for violence prevention initiatives. The intern will play a key role in organizing workshops, coordinating with community partners, and supporting the implementation of community-based events under the OVW Men to Men initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate logistics for community events, including workshops, trainings, and outreach activities (scheduling, materials, site coordination).
- Support planning and execution of community engagement events in collaboration with partner organizations and host sites.
- Communicate directly with community partners (CBOs, faith-based organizations, youth programs) to coordinate participation and logistics.
- Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with partner organizations and stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach to identify and confirm event venues, facilitators, and participants.
- Maintain and update partnership and event tracking systems.
- Draft event agendas, run-of-show documents, and support materials.
- Provide on-the-ground support during events (setup, coordination, participant engagement).
- Assist with follow-up communications and partner relationship management post-events.
Required Skills
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, especially for events.
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple moving pieces and timelines.
- Detail-oriented with strong logistical planning capabilities.
